Dirk Kuyt: Roberto Firmino Is A ‘Complete Player’ For Liverpool

Liverpool favourite Dirk Kuyt believes Roberto Firmino has transformed into the complete player for the Reds owing to his tendency to work for the team’s cause. The Brazil international has notched 25 goals during the ongoing campaign, but despite this, his play has not been one-dimensional with 11 assists along the way.

Speaking on the club’s official website, Kuyt said: “He has his own style and that makes him special. He's a great goalscorer but he's also a team player in everything he does. I don't know him quite well, but if I see him playing he just wants to win with the team and he's not the type of player who wants to score for himself. That, for me, is the biggest thing about Firmino. He's scoring great goals but he's also giving great assists and then you are, in my eyes, a complete player, a great thing for Liverpool.”

The combination of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Firmino have bagged nearly 90 goals during the ongoing campaign, and their form has maintained the Reds’ position in the top-four whilst making significant progress in the Champions League. The Merseyside outfit are currently in the semi-final of the elite competition where they take on AS Roma, and they are surely favourites to reach the final in Kyiv next month.

Liverpool have shown vast improvement on the attack front since Jurgen Klopp’s arrival at the club and the German will be hoping to resolve the club’s issues at the back which have hampered their chances of competing for the Premier League title. Virgil van Dijk has brought more solidity in defence in the backend of the campaign, and there is still room for improvement in the form of another centre-back and a new goalkeeper behind him. Loris Karius has done a credible job since January, but Klopp has seemingly set his sights on pursuing another shot-stopper.
