Dirk Kuyt Announced Retirement From Bid Final Farewell

On Sunday, one of the finest Dutch football modern players got a rousing send-off when ex-Liverpool and Dirk Kuyt, the Feyenoord forward played his last and final match before retirement.

At the De Kuip stadium in Rotterdam, The 'Dirk Kuyt Testimonial' friendly held. It is also the home of Feyenoord, where Kuyt had two successful spells in a stellar career.

The other players who were recruited for the match were Kyyt’s former teammates from the clubs he represented Feyenoord, - FC Utrecht, Fenerbahçe and Liverpool and also from the Dutch national team.

The result was a team of legendary players, and this was enough to make any fan belonging to the early 2000s football nostalgic. All these players gathered together for a gargantuan team picture in the center circle.

The Dutch players who came here were Rafael van der Vaart, Ron Vlaar, Roy Makaay, Pierre van Hooijdonk, Memphis Depay, Giovanni van Bronckhorst, Wesley Sneijder, Robin van Persie, Ryan Babel, Ruud van Nistelrooy, John Heitinga, Nigel de Jong, Edwin van der Sar along with Phillip Cocu. The present manager of the Holland national team, Ronald Koeman, and Ruud Gullit were also on the ground, but there were in the non-playing roles.

Kuyt played for Liverpool between 2006 and 2012 was also well represented on the occasion. And the most surprising was the former captain Steven Gerrard.
